Prior to this incident, on March 17, 2025, flooding had already occurred in parts of the southern area of the IMIP park, submerging some factory construction sites. The flooding, which began on the evening of March 16, 2025, and persisted until the 22nd, was caused by heavy rainfall in the Bahodopi area, Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi Province. The rising river levels overflowed into the park, and as the drainage system was unable to handle the excessive volume of water, the floodwaters inundated the operational areas, triggering a chain reaction.
Following the incident, we immediately coordinated with the IMIP park and mobilized rescue efforts in collaboration with the Palu National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas Palu), the Morowali Search and Rescue Team, the Morowali Naval Base, the Bahodopi Military District, and the Morowali Police Department.

At present, two victims — Demianus and Irfan Tandi Tasik — have been found, while one individual, Muhammad Akbar, remains missing.

Together with the IMIP park, we express our understanding and support for the bereaved families, providing emotional support and assistance. We are actively assuming responsibility for compensation, ensuring that the families of the deceased receive their rightful entitlements in accordance with company policies and the national social security system (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan).
Internally, we established a dedicated information verification team composed of members from our Health, Safety and Environment Department, Administration Department, and externally engaged professional emergency management experts. Every stage, from on-site rescue records to family confirmations, underwent multiple rounds of stringent cross-verification.
Upon detecting the risk of heavy rain and flooding threatening the mining operation area, we immediately ordered a suspension of mining activities and, in coordination with the IMIP park, activated the emergency response plan in advance.
[...]
Together with IMIP, we swiftly established an emergency command center. Rescue teams, including disaster response teams, medical support teams, and logistics support teams, were dispatched to the scene to carry out rescue operations.
[...]
The rescue operations were conducted in strict accordance with relevant Indonesian rescue standards and protocols.
[...]
We immediately set up monitoring stations at environmentally sensitive locations, such as surrounding bodies of water and soil areas, using a combination of online monitoring equipment and manual sampling. Continuous monitoring of water, soil, and air quality indicators has been conducted, with real-time data reporting to the Health, Safety and Environment Department and notification to the relevant government authorities. To date, no information regarding environmental hazards affecting the community has been received. We pledge to continue monitoring environmental data to ensure the safety of the surrounding environment.

The park has initiated multiple comprehensive measures, including but not limited to strengthening storage standards, compacting stored materials, and covering them with waterproof tarpaulins. Furthermore, the park will launch targeted actions to address specific issues exposed during this incident, such as enhancing and improving the drainage system by constructing a three-stage drainage system consisting of "drainage—sedimentation—pumping" processes to prevent future accidents.
Here, we once again extend our sincere apologies to all those affected. We pledge to actively respond to all concerns, handle the incident properly, and take concrete actions to rebuild trust.
