Japan: TBS Television reports insufficient response in four harassment cases

"出演者によるハラスメントに「対応不十分だった」 TBSが調査報告," 25 April 2025

[Unofficial description by Business & Human Rights Resource Centre]

Following the reports about Nakai Masahiro, TBS Television announced that it had begun an internal investigation of 102 people in mid-January and had confirmed "cases where the company's response was insufficient" regarding past harassment by co-stars. Four new cases were confirmed in which announcers were victimised, including one in which a co-star asked to kiss a announcer but the producers who were present did not stop them, and multiple announcers in which co-stars made physical contact with them, but in all cases no appropriate action was taken.

The company holds courses on human rights issues and harassment training sessions.
