River Island's response to suspended production at textile factories in Türkiye

Art Giyim

River Island has not produced any orders with the factory Art Giyim since August 2023. The factory was then removed from River Island’s live factory list in July 2024 on the request of Modavizyon, River Island’s supplier.

Ebru Triko

River Island only started working with the site in early September 2024 with orders despatched in mid-November. During this time, we were unaware of the financial issues with the site. From our investigations since the closure, we are aware that the factory owners had mediated with all workers and of the 159 employees working at the site at the time of the closure in late December 2024, 143 workers were paid the agreed final settlement, and 16 workers did not accept this and have decided to settle through the Turkish courts. We continue to monitor the situation but feel that it would be inappropriate to become involved in this legal process and that the matter should be resolved through the courts.
