Thank you for taking note of our continued support for the objective of the European Commission to protect the world’s forests and restore forests in a sustainable way as well as our consistent advocacy efforts for a successful implementation of the European Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

As the European Coffee Federation has outlined in its direct response, it has always been committed to the successful implementation of the EUDR and has dedicated significant resources to minimize and mitigate the risk of deforestation in the coffee supply chain. It has never attempted to undermine the EUDR. Concerns regarding the implementation timeline of the EUDR were related to the absence of practical tools and guidelines needed to comply with the Regulation, which subsequently had an impact on the ability of all relevant actors to prepare for its implementation. It was not linked to the industry's willingness to comply.
