NKG's response to Empower, ProDESC and Coffee Watch's rejoinder

[...In our previous statement we wrote: “It should be noted that the German Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz [(LkSG)] does not apply to us as a company. However, we at NKG recognize our central position and responsibility in the coffee supply chains and want to contribute to improving human rights and environmental standards by acting responsibly and embedding the core elements of corporate due diligence in our business environment and supply chains.” We would like to reiterate that the LkSG does not apply to German-based Neumann Gruppe GmbH, the Holding company of Neumann Kaffee Gruppe, as we have fewer than 1,000 employees in Germany, which is the threshold for the application of this Act. The same would apply to the European Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive.
