Cambodia: Female translator tortured and extorted during job interview; she was released following complaint

A female translator in a media interview alleged that a group of seven Chinese nationals apparently working for an alleged scam compound of Prince 4 used violent, handcuffed and tortured her at the company building located in Chrey Thom, Sampov Poun city. The incident happened on 26 January 2025, when she was supposed to be interviewed for a Chinese-Khmer translator position. She was freed following being forced to pay about $2,400, she told the local media.

Business & Human Rights Resource Centre has reached out to Prince Holding Group for a response to the allegation but the company did not respond.
