Neumann Kaffee Gruppe disclosure re- Coffee Watch rejoinder on deforestation legislation "attacks"
Neumann Kaffee Gruppe (NKG) appreciates the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre's offer to respond to the rejoinder by Coffee Watch to our statement regarding EUDR.
At NKG, we sincerely welcome open dialogue on the successful implementation of the EUDR and appreciate every opportunity to engage constructively with stakeholders.
Once again, we would like to emphasize that we fully support the objectives of the EUDR to minimize the EU’s contribution to deforestation and forest degradation with the overall goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and prevent biodiversity loss and continue our preparation efforts in the interest of all those involved in our supply chains.
We would like to reiterate that our approach to this issue is an inclusive one, with the aim of not excluding any players along the supply chain. Being aware of the fact that every producing country has different supply chain characteristics and market structures, we endeavor to use our existing local structures and partnerships in the respective countries so that all producers, including smallholder producers, can remain part of EUDR-aligned supply chains.
