US President Donald Trump said the country would be interested in continuing aid to Ukraine in exchange for access to its rare earth minerals. Under this proposal the US would get 50% ownership of Ukraine’s rare earth minerals.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy refused such agreement citing lack of security guarantees for Ukraine.
